Ledgeview Offers Beer And Barbecue

Owner Abbie McLaren said she and husband Craig bought Ledgeview Brewing Company during late July 2020. They remodeled the building and opened for carry-out only on Dec. 9 and opened the dining room Jan. 6. Due to the length of time to get the beer license, Ledgeview got its license at the end of February and its first beer on tap at the end of March.
They have all 10 of their taps filled. Abbie said they have an Irish Red, two IPAs, Westcoast Bitter Hoppie, Nitwit and, for the summer, they have a Cherry Limeade.
Abbie said Ledgeview currently has 10 employees, but are looking for a few more.
Ledgeview offers a traditional barbecue menu with pulled pork, smoked beef brisket and pulled chicken. They also do barbecue ribs after 4 p.m. Sides include macaroni and cheese, green beans, ranch potato salad, sweet potato fries and vinegar cole slaw, Abbie said.
She said they’ve had a lot more special events on their patio, so they’ve made a special menu for that, which includes fried ribs that have slight Asian twist to them and chicken wings. The special menu is separate from Ledgeview’s regular menu.
Future plans include incorporating a food truck. Abbie said the restaurant also has some brewering events they are planning on attending, including Crown Point Beer Festival Saturday.
At some point, they’d like to utilize the field behind the restaurant to do some kind of festival, she said.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
