Girls Golf

Wawasee Falls Twice

SYRACUSE – Wawasee’s Taylor Cripe’s 44 led all players for medalist honors, but the host Lady Warriors dropped a pair of non-conference girls golf matches Monday at Maxwelton Golf Club. Fairfield earned two wins with a team score of 188 to Elkhart’s 210 and Wawasee’s 213.

Rylee Firestone had a 54, Morgan Reel shot a 56, Delaney Delagrange posted a 59 and Ayla Torres a 62 for the Lady Warriors.

Wawasee (4-8) hosted Goshen Wednesday in Northern Lakes Conference play at Maxwelton.



Warsaw Splits NLC?Matches

MISHAWAKA – Warsaw’s Olivia Robinson-Gay posted a 41 at Eberhard-Petro Golf Course Monday, leading the Lady Tigers to a split of a pair of Northern Lakes Conference girls golf matches. Warsaw’s 185 trailed No. 16 NorthWood’s 172 and well ahead of host Mishawaka’s 234.

Delaney Byron shot a 47, with Marie Frazzetta one shot behind at 48 and Abbey Peterson at 49. Abigail Davis’s 52 rounded out the Lady Tigers scoring.

Warsaw continues NLC play Thursday, hosting Wawasee and Northridge.



Warrior Boys Soccer Falls

SYRACUSE – Visiting Mishawaka scored twice in the second half to take a 2-1 Northern Lakes Conference boys soccer win at Wawasee Monday night.

Rueben Carmargo scored for Wawasee in the first half, assisted by Drew Williamson.

Wawasee (1-4, 0-1 NLC) plays Saturday in the Blueberry Festival Tournament in Plymouth.



Viking Tennis Edges Cavemen

AKRON – Visiting Mishawaka and Tippecanoe Valley split the four boys tennis matches contested between the two teams, with the Vikings getting the team win due to a forfeit at No. 2 doubles in non-conference play Monday.

Viking winners were Wyatt Reiter, who defeated Christian Nelson 6-4, 6-0 at No. 3 singles, and the No. 1 doubles team of Cooper Walls and Annakin Pettit, 6-3, 6-0 winners over Lowell Parker and Finn Bobos.

The Vikings return to action at 5 p.m. today, travelling to Peru for a Three Riovers Conference match.
