Grace Rebounds To Top Rams At NCCAA Nationals

The Lady Lancers blew past Columbia International 84-58 in the consolation bracket of the NCCAA National Championships.
The home team made 12 triples in the game, including 10 in the first half, to ease away from the Rams.
Grace will end its season on Friday at 3 p.m. against Ecclesia in the NCCAA fifth-place game.
Grace began the game aggressively, forcing the Rams into seven turnovers in the first quarter.
The Lady Lancers found success on offense working against CIU’s zone defense. Maddie Ryman and Kyannah Stull combined to hit eight 3-pointers before halftime with each drilling four triples.
Kaylee Patton and Sarah O’Day also hit 3s in the half; the Lady Lancers made 10 of 17 (59 percent) from beyond the arc before halftime.
Grace led by one early in the second quarter, but the lead quickly blossomed to 12 with an 11-0 charge. The Lady Lancers led by as many as 18 and claimed a commanding 43-26 lead at halftime.
Stull scored 13 points to lead all players at the break, and Ryman added 12 points. Patton was highly involved with 5 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals.
Grace scored on its first three possessions to start the third quarter, including back-to-back post moves from Patton. Kamryn Hostetler powered Grace’s attack in the period, tallying nine of her 13 points during the quarter.
The Rams had little energy for a massive comeback in the fourth quarter. CIU faced a 20-point deficit for most of the second half and fell by 26.
Stull finished with 22 points and four assists, shooting 8 of 13 from the floor and 5 of 10 from downtown. Ryman amassed 14 points, 3 assists and 3 steals.
Patton filled the stat sheet with 11 points, 8 assists, 5 steals and 4 boards, and Hostetler added 13 points and 3 boards.
Kaylie Warble nearly notched a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Olivia Pearson (4 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists), Kenzie McMahon (4 points, 5 boards) and O’Day (3 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists) each played key roles off the bench.
