He was born in Wabash County Oct. 3, 1919, to Edward and Ruth Metzger Ayres.
On Feb. 24, 1940, Arden married Mary Elizabeth Badskey; she died Oct. 31, 2017.
Family and friends may call Tuesday, July 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, July 21 at 2 p.m. at the Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester, with calling beginning at 1 p.m. Pastors Denver Ayres, Sebrena Cline and J.P. Freeman will officiate. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
The family of Arden E. Ayres has entrusted McKee Mortuary with care and final arrangements.
