Larry A. Thomas, 83, of Warsaw, passed away at 8:42 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne.

He was born on June 22, 1938, in Warsaw, to Max and Frances Reese Thomas.

He graduated in 1956 from Atwood High School and was a lifetime Atwood/Warsaw area resident. He was married on Dec. 22, 1956, in Atwood, to June E. Haney, who survives. He retired as the owner/operator of Sugar Hill Trucking in Warsaw after several years and formerly drove truck for General Electric for 15 years.

He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Atwood.

He is survived by wife, June Thomas, of Warsaw; two daughters: Anitra (Gerry) Hicks, of Leesburg; and Rachele (Jim) McKenzie, of Atlanta; son, Phillip (Shelly) Thomas, of North Manchester; eight grandchildren: Carrie, Marc, Stacey, Nick, Todd, Sam, Abby and Katie; 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 15 at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 306 E. Main St., Atwood. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 16 in the church with Pastor’s James McKibbin and David Banning officiating. Private burial will take place in the Oakwood Cemetery.
