Manchester Men, Women Lose To Bluffton Beavers

BLUFFTON, Ohio – The host Bluffton Beavers narrowly completed the weep of the Manchester University men’s basketball team following a 59-54 victory in Ohio on Saturday, January 30.

Bluffton’s stingy defense proved difficult to overcome on Saturday afternoon. The Spartans were limited to 33% (19-57) shooting from the floor and just 21.7% (5-23) shooting from the perimeter.

Both Matt Westman and Mitch Mendenhall led the Spartans with 12 points apiece off the bench.

In women’s action,  Bluffton completed the weekend sweep with a 78-60 win over the Lady Spartans on Saturday, January 30.

Manchester was limited to 37.7% (23-61) shooting on Saturday. The Black & Gold were also limited to 37.5% (6-16) shooting from downtown. Macy Miller led Manchester with 15 points and nine rebounds. Miranda Bieghler added 14 points on 6-8 shooting. Bieghler also grabbed six boards.
