RAZOR Medical Instruments Inc. Relocating To Warsaw

RAZOR has leased office space at the OrthoWorx/AcceLINX offices in Warsaw to accommodate short-term needs, according to a news release from AcceLINX.
The relocation of RAZOR is the culmination of months of work by AcceLINX, OrthoWorx, Kosciusko Economic Development Corporation (KEDCO), the city of Warsaw and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) to demonstrate the value of relocating to Indiana. The IEDC has offered a package of incentives to RAZOR.
RAZOR employs nine people, several of whom will be relocating to Warsaw. Additional hiring of 63 people over the next three years is anticipated by the company. RAZOR expects to utilize the extensive medical device contract-manufacturing pool that exists in northeastern Indiana. The company estimates that such expenditures could generate hundreds of new jobs within the supplier base over the next several years, according to the release.
RAZOR began working with AcceLINX more than 2-1/2 years ago to refine its quality, regulatory and marketing programs to bring its products to market. According to Bruce Khalili, president of RAZOR, its product line will include single-use instruments used in joint replacement procedures.
Khalili said, “RAZOR technologies will reduce inefficiencies associated with reusable instruments at the OEM and hospital level. The use of single-use instruments facilitates the migration of total joint procedures from the hospital setting to ambulatory care centers.”
“We appreciate the assistance of all the organizations that have helped RAZOR Medical Instruments Inc. relocate to the orthopedic capital of the world,” said Khalili. “The concentration of resources in the medical device field in northeastern Indiana is impressive.”
Khalili stated, “Being in Warsaw is a strategic move for RAZOR as it permits us to leverage the availability of technical talent and manufacturing expertise in the field of medical devices. RAZOR’s unique culture, in partnership with our local universities, AcceLINX, Orthoworx, KEDCO and the City of Warsaw will provide an environment conducive to attract, train and keep young talent in Indiana.”
AcceLINX’s primary focus is to help musculoskeletal health start-ups and early-stage growth companies accelerate and enhance their prospects for success, but according to AcceLINX President Sheryl Conley, when an opportunity presents itself to help attract a company to the region, “we are delighted to work with our state and local partners to help that company relocate here and take advantage of the incredible medical device resource base that exists in Indiana. We congratulate RAZOR Medical Instruments on their decision and look forward to continuing to be helpful in their long-term success.”
