Swim Teams Perform At Girls State Meet

The IHSAA Girls’ State Swim meet last weekend had one local scorer. Wawasee’s Alexis Mishler, a sophomore, turned in a time of 24.03 in the 50-meter freestyle. The area was represented at four additional preliminary events but did not advance to the finals.

All the area relay teams improved upon their meet seed times.

Warsaw’s 200-meter medley team of Rachel Doyle, Macelyn Marcuccilli, Maddy Morgan, and Lily Boston clocked in at 1:55.76.  The Tigers’ 200-meter freestyle relay team of Marcuccilli, Marissa Howett, Madi Johnson, and Boston turned in a time of 1:43.14.

Wawasee’s 200-meter quartet of Mishler, Rileigh Atwood, Cammy Kryder, and Hayden Neer finished with a time of 1:50.33.

Warsaw’s Doyle also swam the 100-meter backstroke in 1:03.12 in individual competition.
