WINONA LAKE - For the third straight week Grace College’s track and field team has earned national merit.

Bryan Hernandez-Rios was named the NCCAA National Track Athlete of the Week after a history-making showing at the Wildcat Invitational.

Hernandez-Rios ran the 5,000-meter race with a record breaking time of a 15:21.26 on Saturday. The sophomore’s time broke a Grace school record that had stood for nearly two decades.

Heather Plastow was the NCCAA Athlete of the Week on Feb. 1, and Isaac Beatty earned the distinction on Jan. 25.

The Lancers will return to action this weekend at the Indiana Tech Classic.
