WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Grace’s women’s basketball team rolled to a 77-54 win over Webber International in the Keiser New Year’s Classic on Thursday.

Maddie Ryman was near flawless with 28 points on 13 of 18 shooting, which propelled Grace to the easy win.

The Lady Lancers blitzed the Warriors from the opening tip and had grabbed an 8-0 lead before surrendering their first basket.

After the Webber bucket, Grace would go on another run to extend the lead to 16-2. Ryman was the catalyst for Grace pouring in 10 of the Lady Lancers’ 16 points.

The Warriors slowly chipped away at the deficit, but baskets from Kiersten Poor and Ryman put Grace up 21-10 at the quarter break.

The second quarter saw more of the same as Grace continued to roll. Peyton Murphy hit an early three, and Kensie Ryman and Maddie Ryman combined for 11 straight points.

Kenzie McMahon had a hand in three straight scoring possessions, assisting on two Feldman layups and scoring on her own to push Grace’s lead 39-15.

Poor put an exclamation mark on the first half with a late triple, sending the game to intermission with the Lady Lancers in front 48-20.

Maddie Ryman had 18 points on 8 for 10 shooting in the first half. Feldman nearly double-doubled with 10 points and seven rebounds.

As a team Grace shot 65 percent from the field and 66 percent from beyond the arc. They held Webber to 9 of 36 from the field and outscored the Warriors 24-12 in the paint.

In the third quarter, Grace kept rolling as Kaylee Patton scored on the Lady Lancers’ first possession of the second half.

Maddie Ryman continued to fuel Grace’s offense. Her bucket midway through the third quarter gave Grace its largest lead of the game at 62-27.

The Lady Lancers closed out the quarter with a 70-38 advantage. Grace began to sub liberally in the fourth quarter.

Taylor Cooney hit a 3-point shot in the final frame as Grace closed out the game for a 77-54 win.

Maddie Ryman led all players with 28 points. She also added seven rebounds and five assists.

Feldman double-doubled with 12 points 12 rebounds and 6 blocks. Poor added 14 points.

McMahon filled the stat sheet with 6 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocks.

Grace shot 47 percent from the field and outrebounded Webber 52-40.

Grace returns to action today to close out the New Year’s Classic against Keiser at 2 p.m.
