NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

CITY OF NAPPANEE PLAN COMMISSION

    The City of Nappanee Plan Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Nappanee City Municipal Center, 300 W. Lincoln Street, Nappanee, Indiana.

    The purpose of the Hearing is to conduct a Public Hearing on Petition #02-22-PLN filed by Marcus Miller of Irene Corporation.  The petitioner is requesting to change the zoning of real estate from R-1 Low Density Residential to I-1 Industrial. The property is located on US 6 West in Nappanee, Indiana.

    LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF PROPERTY:

    A part of the East Half of the Northeast Quarter of Section 34, Township 35 North, Range 4 East, Second Principal Meridian, Locke Township, Elkhart County, Indiana, more particularly described as follows:

    Commencing at a Section Corner Stone monumenting the Northeast corner of said Northeast Quarter of Section 34, said point being the POINT OF BEGINNING of this description; thence South 0 degrees 11 minutes 04 seconds East along the East line of said Northeast Quarter of Section 34, a distance of 2186.55 feet to a point on the North line of the former B&O Railroad; thence North 84 degrees 26 minutes 15 seconds West along said North line of the former B&O Railroad, a distance of 586.36 feet to a point on said North line of the former B&O Railroad; thence North 0 degrees 07 minutes 49 seconds West, along the East line of a tract of land sold on land contract from Helen V. Buss Revocable Trust to Samuel and Mary E. Barkman dated May 30th, 1997, a distance of 2132.56 feet to an iron rebar with cap (DORIOT 890028) on the North line of said Northeast Quarter of Section 34; thence South 89 degrees 43 minutes 12 seconds East along the North line of said Northeast Quarter of Section 34, a distance of 581.41 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.

    A copy of such proposal is on file in the office of the City Planner of the City of Nappanee, Indiana, City Municipal Building, 300 W. Lincoln St., Nappanee, Indiana. Written objections that are filed with the office of the City Planner of the City of Nappanee before the hearing will be considered.

    All concerned citizens will be offered the right to speak and voice their comment at the Public Hearing. The Public Hearing may be continued from time to time as may be found necessary.
