Stephen L. Hissong, 74, of Argos, passed away on Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, at 8:04 a.m. at his residence following a lengthy illness.

On July 6, 1947, in Argos, he was born to Loren I. Hissong and Irene L. Cowen Hissong. He had lived all of his life in the Argos community.

On Nov. 10, 1968, in Argos, he married Patricia J. Caslow and together they would share the next 53 years.

 Stephen worked at Biomet as a shipping clerk from 1969 till his retirement in 2007.

 He was a member of the Argos United Methodist Church, Argos American Legion Post #68, Argos Lions Club, all of Argos. He served on the Argos town board for 10 years and was a Little League coach for many years. Stephan was a member of the Maxinkuckee Odd Fellows Lodge #373, Culver, and was a driver for the Argos EMS for nearly 20 years. Stephen was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1966.

 Stephen served in the United States Army from Oct. 11, 1966, to Oct. 10, 1968, when SP4 Hissong received his honorable discharge and returned to Argos.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Patricia Hissong, of Argos; daughter, Tausha Kline and husband TJ, of Argos; sons: Todd Hissong, of Fishers; and Thad Hissong, of Argos; five grandchildren: Kyle Kline and wife Kassie, Reese Hissong, Lauren Kline, Raegan Hissong, and Marisa Kline; and a great-grandchild to arrive shortly; and sister, Lynne Geiger and husband Dennis, of Culver.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, Dec. 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Argos United Methodist Church, 507 N. Michigan St., Argos.

 Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 23 at 10 a.m. at the church with Rev. Robert Vale and Rev. Max Milton. Burial will follow at the Maxinkuckee IOOF Cemetery at Poplar Grove, Culver. Military rites will be handled by the United States Army Honor Guard and the Argos American Legion Post #68.

 Arrangements have been entrusted with the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, Argos.
