KEDCO Continues Offering Support For Recruiting

These services assist individuals moving to the area and exploring employment opportunities in Kosciusko County with community tours and career support, according to a news release from KEDCO.
"We know that Kosciusko County employers recruit from across the country to attract the world-class talent they need to grow and prosper," said KEDCO CEO Alan Tio. "We work with companies at every stage of business, and these concierge services will enhance their recruitment and retention efforts."
These concierge services are included in the Kosciusko County Community Foundation’s "Working Together" initiative and funding for KEDCO to develop and deliver these services to job candidates and new hires was made possible through a GIFT VII grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. in 2020.
Community tours will be available for individuals considering employment opportunities in Kosciusko County and new residents in the area. Participants will provide input on what housing options, amenities and other quality of life factors are important to them, which will be used to develop customized tours of specific areas and amenities.
KEDCO also is offering career support to spouses and significant others of individuals who are either considering job opportunities in the community, or who are new to the area with its dual career program. KEDCO Talent Initiative Manager Kristen Hale will interview participants to learn about their skills, experience and career interests, then connect them with local employers and career opportunities, and provide follow up support, the release states.
"Oftentimes, when someone accepts an employment opportunity in a new place, the accompanying spouse or significant other is also looking for career opportunities, so this program helps connect and offer them support as well," Hale said.

The 11-county Northeast Indiana’s "Road to One Million," forecasts adding approximately 14,000 new jobs in Kosciusko County by 2030 to enhance the overall quality of life for those living and working here, according to the release.
"KEDCO is supporting the ‘Road to One Million’ by helping individuals to explore our community, build valuable connections, and experience the remarkable quality of life amenities that are available in Kosciusko County," said Tio. "A number of our KEDCO team members have moved into the community ourselves, and we look forward to welcoming more newcomers to the area."
Other KEDCO programs designed for new residents and individuals considering relocation opportunities include the Clearly Kosciusko podcast, which shares perspectives from individuals in the community about their experiences in the community, and the Outside the Fishbowl monthly meetup, which provides an informal opportunity to bring together individuals who have moved into the area.
