Boys Basketball

Wawasee at Whitko

SOUTH WHITLEY – Wawasee was able to get a road victory against Whitko Saturday night, defeating the home team 41-34. The Warriors improve to above .500 with a 3-2 record, while Whitko falls to 2-3.

Caden Welty led Wawasee in scoring, finishing with 12 points. Maddux Everingham finished the game with eight. Whitko had a pair of double-digit scorers, Collin Ziebarth who led all players with 13, and Kyler Krull, who had eleven. Whitko won the JV game 37-35.

Whitko has a home game Wednesday against Prairie Heights, while Wawasee begins NLC play with Warsaw Friday night.



John Glenn at Tippecanoe Valley

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley staged a late comeback but couldn’t finish the job in a nonconference contest against John Glenn Saturday night, losing 65-57. The Vikings are now 2-2 this season.

Tippy Valley was outscored in each of the first three quarters, scoring no more than eleven points. The offense exploded for 26 points in the fourth, but was unable to pull ahead.

Next up for the Vikings is their conference opener at home against Peru Tuesday evening.



Manchester at Huntington North

HUNTINGTON – A solid second half for Manchester wasn’t enough as the Squires could only manage 12 points in the first half, putting them in a hole they could not escape. Huntington North would win the nonconference matchup 53-41, dropping the Squires record to 1-3.

Manchester begins conference play with Southwood Friday night.



Girls Basketball

Warsaw at Plymouth

PLYMOUTH – Warsaw improved to 2-0 in Northern Lakes Conference play Saturday with a 56-22 victory over Plymouth. The Lady Tigers improve to 8-3 this season.

Senior Kacilyn Krebs led all scorers with 16 in the game, followed closely by sophomore Ava Egolf who had 12. Warsaw was also able to win the JV game 33-22.

Next up for the Lady Tigers is a road matchup with Wawasee Saturday night.



Caston at Triton

BOURBON – Triton was unable to pick up a conference win against Caston Saturday, falling 48-34. The Lady Trojans now hold a record of 8-5, 2-1 in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference.

Kinsey Atkins led Triton in scoring with 10 points. Taren Yates finished with nine points and six assists Addyson Viers had six points and six rebounds. Caston also won the JV game 40-25.

Triton’s next game is a nonconference matchup with Jimtown Tuesday.



Carroll at Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER – Fresh off of its first win of the season against Whitko Friday night, Manchester was unable to string together consecutive victories, falling to Carroll 63-38 Saturday in nonconference action. The Lady Squires are now 1-12 this season.

Ainsley West led Manchester in scoring with 14 points ad six rebounds. Keilan Creager finished with eight points and six rebounds as well.

Next up for Manchester is a conference contest with Southwood Friday.



Lakeland Christian at Trinity

SOUTH BEND – Lakeland Christian picked up another conference victory Saturday, defeating Trinity 52-38 to improve to 5-4, 3-0 in the Hoosier Plains conference.

Lakeland Christian doesn’t play its next game until December 28, when the Cougars will take on Clinton Christian.
