WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The Grace men’s and women’s cross country teams begin the 2021 season with appearances in their respective national polls.

The men’s team garnered enough votes to be ranked No. 26 in the poll, just missing the top 25. Five other Crossroads Leagues teams are mentioned in the poll, including three ranked in the top 10.

The Grace women are also just out of the top 25, starting the year in the No. 28 spot. The Crossroads League had four additional teams in the poll.

“It’s great that we have the respect to get votes in the preseason,” said Coach Jacob Poyner. “But we have to go out and earn our spot and, hopefully, keep moving up the polls.”

The men’s team has its top seven runners back from last year, while the women return six of their top seven. Both have added quality recruits who should challenge the returners.

The Lancer cross country teams open the 2021 season at the St. Francis Twilight Invitational in Joliet, Illinois on Friday, September 3.
