He was born on Sept. 8, 1937, in Warsaw, to Franzyl Floyd and Elsie Maurice Thompson Minear.
He was a lifetime Kosciusko County area resident, moved to North Webster in 1949 and graduated in 1955 from North Webster High School. He formerly served in the Indiana National Guard and was married on Oct. 27, 1956, in Warsaw, to Peggy L. Rhodes, who survives. He retired from Lyall Assemblies as a supervisor after 35-plus years and formerly worked at Corbin’s Grocery and Gray’s Supermarket, both in North Webster.
He was a member of the Church of God in North Webster.
He is survived by wife, Peggy Minear, of North Webster; daughter, Susan (John) Shock, of Syracuse; son, Mark Minear, of Leesburg; daughter-in-law, Deb Minear, of North Webster; nine grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Pamela Minear; son, Donald Minear; and great-granddaughter, Molly Minear.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 31 at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 1 in the funeral home with Pastor Myron Drent officiating. Burial will follow in the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery.
