Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts is looking for an executive director.

The non-profit, 501(c)3 organization provides performing arts experiences that create community unity, educational opportunity and economic growth, according to information provided.

The executive director will be responsible to “lead professionals and team members in growing our efforts to educate, entertain and inspire our community.” The ideal candidate should have a “genuine passion for the arts and be an entrepreneurial leader, visible, approachable team builder. They must be flexible, diplomatic, decisive motivator and coalition builder with strong personal communication skills.”

Since its beginnings in 1955, Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts has showcased some of the best talent in the country, producing Broadway-quality shows in Warsaw. More than 66 years later, audiences continue to rave about the Wagon Wheel’s “unique and intimate theatre-in-the-round setting,” the information states. Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts is home to the Wagon Wheel Professional Theatre, Wagon Wheel Community Theatre, Wagon Wheel Symphony of the Lakes, Wagon Wheel Jr., Wagon Wheel Conservatory and the Wagon Wheel Concert Series.

A bachelor’s degree is preferred, as is nonprofit experience for the executive director position. Business management, leadership and community outreach experience of three to five years would be ideal and public relations and marketing skills would be beneficial. Fundraising experience and fiscal management experience is essential, according to information provided. Community involvement is required.

The executive director reports directly to the board chairperson.

The executive director supervises and manages all Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts personnel including the following salaried team positions: chief operating officer, director of donor relations, artistic director, director of marketing, director of education and music director.

The full-time salaried position has a salary range of $50,000 to $70,000 annually, with paid vacation and personal time off.

There is a potential for additional income opportunity with Warsaw Community Schools Performing Arts Center. There are no medical benefits.
