INDIANA - KOSCIUSKO COUNTY

DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT

    U.S. Department of Agriculture, Farm Service Agency (FSA) announces they will be completing an Environmental Assessment for the construction of a 4,800-head swine barn that would be located north of the intersection 800 N and 200 W in Kosciusko County, Indiana (S36, T34N, R5E). This location is approximately two miles northwest of Leesburg. The primary objective of the activity is provide funding for the construction of the new barn. The project would also include below-building manure storage, a compost shed, a utility shed, a well, and a driveway. FSA is accepting comments on the potential effects of the proposed project on protected resources and the human environment through May 14, 2021. Information regarding this project can be reviewed at the Kosciusko County FSA Office at 217 East Bell Dr., Warsaw, IN 46582. Comments should be submitted by mail to Eric Fisher, State Environmental Coordinator, 5981 Lakeside Boulevard, Indianapolis, IN 46278. In keeping with the provisions of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), all comments received will be  carefully considered. No action will be taken or a decision made until after the environmental review process has been conducted. All who comment will be notified of FSA's decision when it is available and advised where underlying documents will be made available. If Freedom of Information Act requests are received, we are not able to withhold the names and address of commenters.
