Lakeview Volleyball Girls Win 2020 Conference Championship

Lakeview Middle School’s 8th grade volleyball girls beat Lincoln 25-23, 25-8 to win the Conference Championship.  

Daihya Chupp had 3 aces, 1 dig, 1 block, and delivered a strong passing game from the back row.

Maggie Hollon had 6 kills and 1 block while Jillian Glaze had 1 ace and 2 assists. Mia Jones had 1 ace, 3 kills, and 3 blocks, Abbey Peterson had 1 ace and 13 assists. Ally Anderson had 6 aces and 4 kills.

Brooke Winchester had 2 aces and 3 kills while Leila Knepp had 1 kill.

Lakeview ended the season with a record of 23-2 and were Lakeview Tournament Champs and Dunes Tournament Champs in addition to winning the conference title.

8th grade football winners

Lakeview’s 8th grade boys came up with a 14-8 victory over Wawasee in the NELMSC semi-finals.

Drew Sullivan had 2 rushing TDs and Max Andrew added another rush for a score.

Wyatt Dawson  set the pace with big carries all night to move the chains and scored on 2 extra point rushes while the offensive line consistently opened up holes all night.

On the defense side Gavin Schultz ran  back an interception for a touchdown. Hunter Martin had a interception as well.

The defesive line got pressure in key spots and defensive backs Carson Chizum, Griffin Brown, Hunter Martin, Adan Rodriguez and Esteban Saldivar covered well and only gave up one big play to a very potent passing offense.

Carson Chizum made multiple big tackles on special teams as well.

7th graders undefeated

Lakeview’s 7th grade football played Bremen in a semi final game Monday night and came away with a 38-0 victory.

The tigers were led on offense by a good offensive line that opened up running lanes for the running backs on a windy, rainy night.

The Tigers were led by Brody Duncan with TD runs of 48, 41, and 9 yards. Mydin Burger had a TD run of 28 yds. Jordan Randall also had a 8 yd TD run.

The defense didn’t allow Bremen to gain any first downs in the game.

Ryan Campbell had 3 tackles for losses and a recovered fumble. Ezra Stewart had 4 tackles for losses and a recovered fumble.

The tigers will play for the conference championship on Thursday at Fisher Field.

The Tigers record is now 7-0.
