Grace Men 4th, Women 6th In Hoops Poll

AVON, Ohio – The Crossroads League announced its 2020-2021 Men’s Basketball Preseason Poll and Preseason All-League Team on Wednesday, as voted on by the league’s 10 head coaches.

Indiana Wesleyan was voted as the preseason favorite to repeat as Crossroads League Champions, after securing the league’s regular season and tournament titles one year ago. Marian finished second in the poll, followed by Saint Francis, Grace and Bethel.

IWU’s Kyle Mangas was once again selected as the Crossroads League Preseason Player of the Year, after earning NAIA National Player-of-the-Year recognition. The three-time NAIA First-Team All-American was joined on the Preseason All-Crossroads League Team by fellow NAIA All-Americans, TreVion Crews (BU), Jevon Knox (MVNU), Seth Maxwell (IWU), Cameron Wolter (MU), Antwaan Cushingberry (USF), Haden Deaton (GC) and Brandon Durnell (SAU), with Christian Harvey (MU) and Caleb Middlesworth (HU) also making the prestigious 10-player list.

Marian Women Picked First in Preseason Poll

Marian was voted as the unanimous preseason favorite to win the Crossroads League Championship once again, after claiming the CL’s regular season and tourney crowns last season.

The Knights were followed by Indiana Wesleyan, Mount Vernon Nazarene, Taylor and Saint Francis in the top-half of the preseason rankings.

MU’s Imani Guy was selected as the Crossroads League Preseason Player of the Year on the heels of earning NAIA All-American honors in her first season with Marian. Fellow returning All-Americans, Taylor Gregory (MVNU) and Abby Downard (MU), joined Guy as Preseason All-CL First-Team sections, in addition to Anna Secrest (IWU), Kyannah Stull (GC), Sam Vaughn (HU), Dayton Groninger (IWU) and Macy Willoughby (MU).
