Active seniors will soon have a new choice for a place to call home.

Miller’s Health Systems Inc. held a groundbreaking ceremony with the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce Monday afternoon for the first phase of a new 55-and-older duplex community.

The Villas at County Farm Crossing is a new duplex community for active seniors, according to a news release provided by Miller’s Health Systems. The community will be located just off of County Farm Road across from Warsaw Community Church and between Eisenhower Elementary School and Miller’s Senior Living Community. The initial phase will feature four duplexes with a total of eight villas and “The Crossing,” the community’s clubhouse.

Construction is underway, with completion of phase one anticipated to be in early fall.

The villas’ “spacious 2,000-square-foot layout features an open concept foyer, kitchen and living area, along with a master suite and bath, office or guest room and full guest bath,” the release states. Plans also include a separate pantry, laundry room, three-season room with storage, an attached garage and a grilling patio. “The design boasts refinements such as granite countertops, a kitchen island, roll-in shower and walk-in closets,” the release states.

Patrick Boyle, president and CEO of Miller’s Health Systems Inc., said, “We are pleased to offer this community to seniors in the area who are looking for an alternative to homeownership while maintaining all their independence. They can have a new home designed with upscale features and efficiencies, built with plenty of space to enjoy and entertain, without all the worries of ongoing maintenance, and with no large initial investments of cash.

“Plus, we know that being part of a small, quiet community surrounded by conveniences such as an optional meal delivery service right to their door, complimentary fitness center membership and close proximity of churches and EMS services will make this a desirable setting for many from the 55-plus group.”
