Indiana Wesleyan’s Kyle Mangas, a Warsaw Comm-unity High School alum, headlined that group, being named the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Player of the Year, as well as a First-Team All-American selection.

Spring Arbor’s Paul Marandet, another former Warsaw Tiger, joined Mangas in receiving NAIA First-Team All-American recognition.

Marandet, now a three-time All-American selection after also earning Third Team honors as a freshman, led Spring Arbor in scoring this season with a career-high 629 points, which ranked top-25 nationally, and a career-high 19.1 points per game. He  also shot a career-best 55 percent from the field while also shooting at a 43 percent clip from 3-point range and 84 percent from the free throw line.

Marandet is one of only eight players to score over 2,000 career points in the 57-year history of the program. Over his four-year career, he amassed 2,158 points, which ranks fourth on the SAU all-time scoring list.

In addition to his ability to score, the senior floor general was also one of the nation's best playmakers, leading the conference, and ranking third in the NAIA, in assists, averaging 5.9 per game. Through his career, Marandet dished out 755 total assists – breaking the program’s record for career assists set by SAU Hall of Famer Micah Lancaster from 2002-06.
