Grace College To Host Second Round Of Senior Art Exhibits March 16-April 11

The second Senior Art Show will take place March 16 to April 11 at two locations on the Grace College campus. The first exhibit will be showcased at Morgan Library, 200 Seminary Drive, Winona Lake, with a public reception on March 27 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The second exhibit will be held at Mount Memorial Art Gallery, 808 Kings Highway, Winona Lake, with a public reception on March 27 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The receptions are free and open to the public.
“These exhibitions are an essential milestone for each student. The pieces presented represent many hours of hard work and will play a key role in their transition into the professional world. As faculty, we are very proud to witness this culmination of our students' learning experiences and are excited to see how each student will use their skills to impact their world,” said Aaron Winey, program director for media arts in the Department of Visual, Performing and Media Arts at Grace College.
Morgan Library will showcase the work of Abigail Woods (illustration), Calyn Howell (visual art), Bethany Thompson (visual art), Averie Rulli (visual communication design and illustration), Emma Hicks (visual communication design and photography), Braden Walker (illustration), Izabella Shuman (web design and development and photography) and Jessica Evans (web design and development). This exhibit location can be visited during Morgan Library regular hours: Sunday 2 - 11 p.m., Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. - 11 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., and Saturday 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Mount Memorial Art Gallery location will simultaneously showcase the work of students Tiffany Lyon (visual art), Madalyn Schrader (illustration and photography), Alivia Lengacher (illustration and photography), Allyson Black (visual art), Grace Joy (visual communication design), Marlena Holmes (photography), Matthew Bliss (visual communication design and illustration) and Benjamin Roach (web design and development). The Mount Memorial exhibit is open Monday through Friday 10:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Saturdays 1 - 4 p.m.
The goal of the Visual, Performing, and Media Arts Department at Grace College is to equip graduates with the ability to communicate visually, possess professional skills and be able to analyze works from historical and contemporary cultural perspectives, according to a news release from Grace College. Students learn to demonstrate excellence in creative work that ultimately serves in their calling as artists, Christians and professionals.
