By Staff Report-
This decision came after discussing multiple dates, including the original date, with each of the artists who plan to show their art. The artists expressed the importance of shows like Oakwood’s, saying they are important to the artists who rely on them as selling opportunities. With most of the large shows cancelled, they are excited about Oakwood’s show because of Oakwood Resort’s beautiful outdoor venue and the large attendance of summer vacationers who flock to the show, according to a news release from Chautauqua-Wawasee.
This festival brings together 20-plus local and regional artists from around the northern Indiana and southern Michigan area. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be held at Oakwood Resort, Syracuse. It is free. Food vendors are onsite for snacks and lunch, with outside seating available. Also, Oakwood’s Pier and Back Porch restaurant offers a full menu with both indoor and outdoor lakefront dining. Attendance is free. Ample parking is available.
Chautauqua-Wawasee provides events in support of four pillars: arts, education, faith and recreation.
Based on the original Chautauqua Institution, founded in the town of the same name in southwestern New York State in 1874, Chautauqua-Wawasee is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the exploration of the best in human values and the enrichment of life through a series of programs and events. Throughout the year, programs are held in the Syracuse-Wawasee area, with many held at Oakwood Resort.
