WINONA LAKE - Seven members of Grace College’s women’s and men’s golf teams were given academic honors.

For the Lady Lancers, Anna Marshall, Sydney Abbott, Kara Godsey, Rachel Harvey and Kristin Holt were all named NCCAA Scholar-Athletes. The NCCAA recognizes juniors and seniors with a GPA of at least 3.40.

On the men’s side, Camden Gongwer and Tim Rata earned NCCAA Scholar-Athlete status.

Marshall also earned a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, which honors student-athletes for both academic and athletic achievements.

The Lady Lancers are the reigning NCCAA national champions, claiming the title in 2019 under head coach Denny Duncan.

The men’s team placed fourth in the nation last year at NCCAA Nationals.

Warsaw, Wawasee Secure Spots In Sectional Finals
Three local teams made up the four spots at the IHSAA tennis sectional semifinals at Warsaw Thursday evening. With the Tigers taking on Whitko and the Northern Lakes Conference Champions Wawasee facing off against Columbia City for the two spots in Saturday’s final, there was plenty of action on the courts. In the end, the two NLC competitors were left standing after a 5-0 win for Warsaw and a 5-0 victory for the Warriors.
