While the business has been open as a food trailer for the past 10 years, the trailer found a permanent spot on Winona Avenue about a month ago, owner Brent Reed said.
He talked about some of the things he’s excited about in regards to the permanent position in Warsaw. Reed and wife Stacey Reed also have a bakery in town, so having a permanent position in Warsaw will help not being so far away from that business during the pandemic.
Reed said the location on Winona Avenue is permanent but “still with wheels” since he has other obligations and other places to be.
“We set it up so we could get our other food trailers in here to make a little food court,” he said. He had expressed a want to bring in an ice cream business and a business that makes elephant ears to the corner to build up.
“We’ll see what it grows into,” he said, noting he knows what his business grew into before the pandemic. He stated over the years he’s been in business, he had a thought that he could probably fill the courthouse with all the pizzas he’s made.
Reed said he has three trailers and he has one that he takes other places. The trailers travel to different shows, such as the Indy 500, the Kentucky Derby and all the major events on the Ohio State Fairgrounds.
“So if you guys see us gone, we haven’t quit, we haven’t died, we went to another town for a weekend or so,” Reed said. However, Reed said he’s staying away from the big cities until there’s a vaccine for COVID-19 or the election or “whatever happens.”
As for how long Fire N The Hole Pizza is going to be open, Reed said, “I shut down in the winter. We’re going to shoot for Christmas time. We’ll say stay open clear to Christmas time, weather permitting. I mean, if it’s below, like super below freezing, like 20 below, or zero, it’s hard for me to stay open. But 20 degrees, I can work with.”
Reed said hours for Fire N The Hole Pizza are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. However, that might change if he is able to get more people to help. He eventually wants to compete with other fast food restaurants in the area that stay open later.
Pizzas on the menu include breakfast, Buffalo Chicken, cheese, margherita, all-meat and pepperoni.
