Warsaw won its 13th consecutive boys sectional title Saturday, scoring 459 points to easily outdistance runner-up Columbia City’s 326.

Tippecanoe Valley was fifth, and Manchester finished 11th.

Grant Knight was a double winner as an individual and was a part of two winning relays. Knight took the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke, and was a member of the 200 medley relay, along with Zach laLonde, Michael Ray and Mel Littlefield, and the 200 freestyle relay with Mick Bazzoni, Ray and Littlefield.

Other Warsaw winners  were Cooper Archer, 200 individual medley; and the 400 freestyle relay team of Jacob Monesmith, Nathan Taylor, Bazzoni and LaLonde.

Winners earned automatic entry into the state finals Saturday in Indianapolis.

In the Concord Sectional, Wawasee finished fourth behind the host Minutemen, Elkhart Central and Northridge.

Warsaw Defeats NorthWood, Gets Share Of NLC Title
In what has become a rivalry between the two premier teams in the Northern Lakes Conference, the Warsaw and NorthWood volleyball teams met at the Tiger Den Thursday night for a game with major conference implications. The Lady Tigers were able to keep their perfect conference record alive, clinching at least a share of the NLC for the third straight year with a 3-0 win.

Warsaw, Wawasee Secure Spots In Sectional Finals
Three local teams made up the four spots at the IHSAA tennis sectional semifinals at Warsaw Thursday evening. With the Tigers taking on Whitko and the Northern Lakes Conference Champions Wawasee facing off against Columbia City for the two spots in Saturday’s final, there was plenty of action on the courts. In the end, the two NLC competitors were left standing after a 5-0 win for Warsaw and a 5-0 victory for the Warriors.
