Forte Residential Receives Facade Grant From City, WCDC

By Staff Report-

Warsaw Community Development Corporation (WCDC) and the City of Warsaw presented a $5,000 façade grant to Forte Residential and Home Health Care Services on Thursday.

Building owners First Light Enterprises LLC, who purchased the building in 2017, recently completed extensive exterior renovations on the historic downtown Warsaw building, according to a news release from the WCDC. The former U.S. Post Office at 120 S. Lake St., Warsaw, was built in 1931. The building is of Colonial Revival architectural style with an Ashlar Limestone exterior and beautiful arched wood frame windows – which have been meticulously restored, the release states.

Forte Residential Inc. provides in-home support for individuals receiving services through the Medicaid Home and Community Based Waiver System.

Warsaw Community Development Corporation and the City of Warsaw continue to improve the downtown infrastructure and attract new businesses. The introduction of a Matching Facade Grant Program in 2003 has enabled downtown building owners to make improvements to the exterior of their buildings through matching grants of up to $5,000 per merchant project each year. Since 2003, the Façade Grant Program has resulted in over $1,474,350 in merchant investments with a city investment of over $322,580 in matching grant funds.

For information about the Façade Grant program, contact Warsaw Community Development Corporation at 574-267-6311, ext. 4, or email [email protected].
