Spartan Athletics Unveils New Scoreboard

NORTH MANCHESTER – Manchester University has partnered with Nevco to transform its gameday experience at its new Spartan stadium. With the purchase of a new Nevco virtual scoring video display, MU's new Spartan stadium will have one of the premier scoring solutions in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, while also transforming the gameday experience for both student-athletes and fans.

Shannon Griffith, Manchester's director of development, worked closely with Nevco throughout the process, saying, "Upgrading to a video scoreboard was an exciting process. Being able to provide the best for our University community and student-athletes is important to our University leaders. Most importantly, we want to thank alumni Marty ('55) and Connie Brumbaugh ('56) for making this a reality for our University."

At the south end of the new Spartan stadium stands a new Nevco 20mm video scoreboard display that measures over 13 feet high and stretches 25 feet wide.  The display is designed to provide live in-game action, crowd engaging prompts, and endless revenue-generating opportunities for the University. The eye-popping display will provide a new gameday atmosphere, while also providing the Spartans with a new homefield advantage.

"What a great experience it is to work with Manchester," said Jeff Besserman, Sports Video Regional Manager for Nevco. "I am extremely proud to be a part of the growing tradition of the university's athletics. Being able to help transform the gameday experience is what we do at Nevco."

The video scoring display will have the ability showcase everything from live game action and instant replays to vibrant animated graphics and sponsorship messages. Hidden away from the fan's eye, the displays are operated by utilizing Nevco's proprietary Display Director™ Software, which allows the gameday operations to be easily managed through one, universal operating system.

"Nevco has exceeded our expectations and provided a level of service that is hard to match" said Griffith. "We cannot wait for kickoff and can't thank Jeff and the Nevco team enough."
