Four lanes of people (pictured) wanting movie theater popcorn, cotton candy and nachos; and cars winding out onto Mariners Drive, was the result of North Pointe Cinemas’ second weekend selling their concessions in a drive-through fashion to help offset losses the theater has accrued since being closed since mid-March.

North Pointe Cinemas, 1060 Mariners Drive, Warsaw, was selling tubs of popcorn and cotton candy for $5 each and nachos for $3. Last weekend, they sold 800 tubs of popcorn.

The nine-screen theater has been closed since March, when Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb ordered nonessential businesses and gatherings of more than 50 people be prohibited to help slow the spread of coronavirus.

Owners hope the theater will reopen this summer.
