Men’s Soccer Topped By Kalamazoo

NORTH MANCHESTER – Visiting Kalamazoo College tallied three goals in the first four minutes of Wednesday’s soccer match with Manchester.  The Hornets would go on to claim a 7-0 victor.

Six different Hornets found the back of the net; Dahwi Kim scored a pair of goals and tallied an assist to lead KC.

Manchester fell to 1-1-1 this season while Kalamazoo improved to 2-1.  The Spartans will be back in action on Saturday September 7 at 2 pm.  MU will host Spalding University.



Women’s Soccer Falls To Ohio Wesleyan

NORTH MANCHESTER – Manchester University open-ed play in 2019 with a home match against visiting Ohio Wesleyan University.  The Battling Bishops defeated the Spartans 4-0.

Hannah Baughman scored two of OWU’s four goals on the afternoon.  Olivia Adkins and Ashley Smiley also found the back of the net.

Manchester goalie Gabrielle Carreon made a career-high 15 saves in goal.

Ohio Wesleyan improved to 2-1 on the young season.  Manchester (0-1) will return to the pitch at noon Sunday at Albion.



VB Drops Home Opener To Kalamazoo

 NORTH MANCHESTER – Host Manchester University dropped a three-set match to visiting Kalamazoo on Wednesday evening Stauffer-Wolfe Arena.

The Hornets narrowly edged the Spartans, 26-24, in the first set to start the match.  Kalamazoo took sets two and three by final tallies of 25-16 and 25-13.

Madi Goodman paced the Hornets with 10 kills and Grace Kraft added 24 assists.

The Spartans will be on the road Saturday at North Park (Ill.).
