CARMEL – For the second time this season, senior running back Donavan Henderson, Jr. was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Offen-sive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Henderson powered the Manchester offense to a 30-21 upset of Franklin College on Saturday October 19. Henderson carried the ball 37 times for 188 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Henderson sealed the Spartans’ first win over the Grizzlies since 1997 with a 65-yard touchdown sprint - the longest rush in his storied career – late in the 4th quarter.

Most noteworthy for Donavan is that he broke Manchester Hall of Famer Dan Taylor's all-time rushing mark that was set back in the early 1970's. Henderson is the school's new all-time rushing leader with 3,196 career yards.

On the season, Henderson leads the HCAC and ranks third in all of NCAA Division III with 936 rushing yards. His 11 rushing TDs rank second in the league and fifth in the nation.

Manchester will head to Hanover College for a 1:30 p.m. Saturday meeting with the Panthers.
