CARMEL – Two Manchester University football student-athletes picked up Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors.

For the third time this season, senior running back Donavan Henderson, Jr. was named the HCAC Offensive Player of the Week. Sophomore kicker Andrew Kibler was named the HCAC Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time this year.

Playing in his final game for the Black and Gold on Saturday, Henderson could not have ended his Manchester career on a higher note. Henderson rushed for a school record 394 yards on 30 carries and tied the NCAA record with 8 rushing touchdowns in the Spartans' 70-54 win over rival Anderson. Henderson helped Manchester retain the Bronze Ball trophy for the ninth straight year.

Henderson became one of just five NCAA players ever to rush for 8 TDs in a single game. Donavan is just one of two NCAA Division III players to accomplish that feat. Henderson finished the 2019 season with 1,709 rushing yards and 20 rushing TDs – breaking his own records of 1,268 yards and 17 TDs set last year. Donavan also ended his Spartan career as the school's all-time leading rusher with 3,969 career yards and 53 TDs.

Kibler earned his second player of the week award after going a perfect 10-for-10 on point-after-touchdown kicks in Manchester's win. He finished the season 36-of-37 on PATs. Manchester scored the second-most points in a game in program history on Saturday against the rival Ravens.

The 124 combined points on Saturday ranked as the second-highest scoring game in program history.
