Customers who stopped at Steak ’n Shake in Warsaw Thursday found it closed with a note on the door.

The note said, “We have decided to close this Steak ’n Shake location, which is being designated for a franchise partner. We will be renovating by installing new equipment to improve our speed and customer service. This location will reopen under new franchise ownership.

“In the meantime, we hope you visit one of our other nearby locations. Thank you for your support and continued patronage.”

The Warsaw restaurant is at 2455 Jalynn St. and wasn’t the only Steak ’n Shake to be closed this week. Other closures were reported in Illinois, Ohio and parts of Indiana.

Steak ’n Shake was established in 1934 and its corporate headquarters is in Indianapolis. Numerous attempts to contact a spokesperson at the corporate headquarters or locally were unsuccessful.
