North Manchester Public Library - Another Busy Month Planned

• Mosaic Flowers – 11 a.m. Monday: Use a variety of precut construction papers, in all kinds of different colors and patterns, to create your own mosaic flower masterpiece. Layer pieces for a more three dimensional look, or keep it simple and elegant by crafting a minimalist design.
• Evening Tales: Cork Snakes – 11 a.m. Monday: April Fool! You can play all kinds of tricks on your friends after you make a cork snake at Evening Tales. We'll also be reading a story and playing some games.
• Storytime – 11 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday: Visit this popular program for silly songs, a story and a themed craft.
• Art Hour – 11 a.m. Tuesday: Kids of all ages are welcome to participate in this hour of creativity!
Each participant will receive one canvas board to create a masterpiece however they choose. The library will provide a variety of art mediums, such as paint, glitter, feathers, ribbons and more to help spark the creative process.
• Exploration Bins – 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday: Come and go as you please during this hour of exploration! We'll have a variety of different sensory bins set up for kids to discover, including a fantastic Ocean Sensory Bin.
Kids will enjoy learning about different environments and textures at this fun program.
• Teen Movie “Napoleon Dynamite” – 3 p.m. Wednesday: Come to the Makerspace for a showing of this cult classic film. Popcorn will be provided.
A movie description reads “In small-town Preston, Idaho, awkward teen Napoleon Dynamite has trouble fitting in. After his grandmother is injured in an accident, his life is made even worse when his strangely nostalgic uncle, Rico, shows up to keep an eye on him. With no safe haven at home or at school, Napoleon befriends the new kid, Pedro, a morose Hispanic boy who speaks little English. Together the two launch a campaign to run for class president."
• Between – 3:45 p.m. April 4: An after school program for pre-teens ages 10 and up. Teens are invited to come grab a snack and a drink while enjoying the NMPL Makerspace.
• Open Lego Hour – 3:45 p.m. April 4: Come and join us for Open LEGO Hour at the library! Come and go as you please during this free hour to create and play with LEGOs. Kids of all ages are welcome.
• Beach Party Bingo – 6 p.m. April 5: Wear your brightest beach party clothes and celebrate spring break with us! We'll be playing bingo for lots of great prizes. We'll also be serving hot dogs, chips and drinks.
• Harry Potter Escape Room – noon to 4 p.m. April 6: Come check out NMPL's very first Escape Room! Bring the family or some friends to join you and see if you can break the code using the Marauders map.
This event requires registration. Each group will sign up for a half hour time slot. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
• National Library Week – April 8 To 13: Join us as we celebrate National Library Week! This year's theme is “Libraries = Strong Communities.”
We'll celebrate NMPL by the Numbers on Monday; NMPL Staff Members on Tuesday; Pop Up Libraries on Wednesday; Helping NMPL on Thursday; and Volunteer Recognition Day will be Friday. We'll also have lots of fun programs for patrons to attend throughout the week.
• Dino Tea Party – 3:45 P.M. April 8: Come to the Makerspace for a dinosaur themed tea party! We'll have snacks and some really great crafts. Decorate a fancy hat and make your own dinosaur fossil.
Registration is required and space is limited.
• Mary Poppins Returns Movie Night – 5:30 p.m. April 9: Bring the whole family for a special showing of Mary Poppins Returns. We'll have freshly popped popcorn, snacks, and comfy seating for the kids. It will be a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious time!
• Tea Tasting Exhibit – 5 to 7 p.m. April 10: Browse the shelves and try some new teas while you're at it! Enjoy sampling a variety of delicious teas, as well as learn information on the history of tea and its uses.
• Adult Recess – 6 p.m. April 17: Meet us in the Makerspace for this adults-only maker night! We'll have lots of fun activities available such as cross stitching, paint by number, perler beads, fabric printing and more. Popcorn and drinks will be provided.
• Family Maker Night – 6 p.m. April 24
Families are welcome to visit the Makerspace and work on whatever projects they would like using the provided resources.
Participants are also welcome to play games, craft, make a Perler bead work of art or even check out our new converting station. Pizza and beverages are always provided.
