From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 27, the Whitley County Historical Museum will host a Civil War Day.

All ages are welcome.

Learn about what life was like during the Civil War from reenactors through live demonstrations and presentations. There will be attendance gifts.

Topics include review of the Civil War in 4 minutes, military drill, soldiers camp, rifle – bayonet - manual of arms, women as soldiers, nursing, communications-telegraph, flags, U.S. Marines, medical care, Lincoln’s last day and Civil War music.

Call the Whitley County Historical Museum at 260-244-6372 to register for this event as space is limited. Admission to this event is free.

The Whitley County Historical Museum, housed in the home of Thomas Riley Marshall, is dedicated to preserving the history of Whitley County. This is achieved through educational programs, artifact preservation and collection, exhibits, publications and collaboration with related groups. The museum is at 108 W. Jefferson St., Columbia City. Hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday 9 a.m. to noon.

Admission is free.
