By Terri Ritter-
At 1:30 p.m. Monday, the adult services department will show the 1965 World War II thriller about a German plot to steal looted art masterpieces. Feel free to bring snacks to munch while enjoying this classic movie.
Though normally meeting the first Tuesday each month, the January session of Knit 1 Crochet 2 has been moved to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday due to the New Year’s holiday. If you’re an experience knitter or crocheter, bring your yarn project to the library to work on while chatting and sharing ideas with others.
Learners should bring a size H or I crochet hook and “Sugar N Cream” brand yarn. Instructor Teresa Zurcher will help you get started crocheting a dish cloth.

Mystery Marathon starts its second week as adult readers compete to see who can read the most mysteries during January and February. Register to play at the circulation desk and select an alias name to play under; then read any type of mystery book, e-book or audio book from the North Webster Library’s collection or from any other Evergreen library.
Details and contest rules are available at the circulation desk. The winner will be announced March 1.
Looking for a constructive after-school activity for the kids? Bring them to Crafts and Stories every Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the youth services department where they can listen to stories while doing a craft.
If they need to practice their oral reading skills, you can sign them up for a private 15-minute reading session with therapy dog Echo. Accompanied by her handler Janet Krull, Echo visits the library every Tuesday at 4 p.m. to listen to children read. Reading sessions are by appointment only and can be scheduled at the youth services desk or by calling 574-834-7122, ext. 202.
Keep posted of library programs, events and announcements by signing up for the library’s Text Club. Using your cell phone, text the word library to the number 36000; then follow the instructions on the reply message. You will then start receiving text notifications on your cell phone.
You can opt out any time by texting the word stop to the same number. Those who prefer e-mail notifications can send their e-mail addresses to [email protected].
