NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS OF ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS

    Notice is hereby given the taxpayers of Kosciusko County, Indiana, that the County Council of said County will meet at the Kosciusko County Courthouse, 100 W Center Street, 3rd Floor Courtroom, Warsaw, Indiana at 7:00 PM on September 12, 2019 to consider the following additional appropriations in excess of the budget for the current year:

Fire District 2 – Regional Public Safety

    9164-21009-000-0000    Books    $3,500.00

    9164-31045-000-0000    Disposables Training    $10,000.00

    9164-34001-000-0000    Insurance    $6,000.00

    9164-33014-000-0000    Fiscal Agent     $5,000.00

    9164-33016-000-0000    Propane    $2,000.00

    9164-33025-000-0000    Live Fire Training    $5,000.00

    9164-33031-000-0000    Live Instructor Hours    $10,360.00

Fire District 2 – Infrastructure

    9165-33015-000-0000    Training Center Maintenance    $10,000.00

    9165-33023-000-0000    Property Maintenance             $10,000.00

Statewide 911

    1222-11507-000-0000    Overtime Pay                           $30,000.00

Highway – Railroad Grade Crossing Grant

    9172-22044-000-0000    Pavement Markings    $44,250.00

Sheriff – Stop Arm Violation Enforcement

    8315-11706-000-0000    Grant Salaries                            $8,000.00

    Taxpayers appearing at the meeting shall have a right to be heard.  The additional appropriation when finally approved will be referred to the Local Government Board of Finance.  The Board will make a written determination as to the sufficiency of funds to support the appropriations made within fifteen (15) days of receipt of a certified copy of the action taken.

Fire Territory Board 3rd To Reject Merit System
Following the Warsaw Common Council and the Board of Public Works and Safety’s votes, the Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory Board on Wednesday approved the resolution rejecting the merit board system for the fire department.
