NORTH MANCHESTER – The Manchester University women's soccer team will begin the 2019 season Sept. 4 at home against the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops.

Manchester's schedule features 18 contests. Seven games will be played at Good Field this season, while the remaining 11 will be played on the road.

Heartland Collegiate Athl-etic Conference play will begin on Oct. 5 when the Hanover Panthers visit North Manchester. The Spartans will host rival Anderson (Oct. 9), Mount St. Joseph (Oct. 19) and Defiance (Oct. 23) this season. Remaining HCAC road contests include: Transyl-vania (Oct. 12), Franklin (Oct.  16), Rose-Hulman (Oct. 26), Bluffton (Oct.  30) and Earlham (Nov. 2).

Four players were named "Players to Watch" by the HCAC. Senior Katie Green will lead the Spartans during her final campaign in a Manchester uniform. Green has appeared in 44 games during her career. The sophomore trio of Jayden Murray, Bridget Nash, and Jessica Hudnall were also named "Players to Watch" by the HCAC.

Both Nash and Hudnall appeared in every game last season as freshmen. Murray will look to increase her presence at forward in 2019.

Head coach Christine Johnson will enter her fourth season leading the women's soccer program.
