Library Working To Digitize Mentone History

Bell Memorial Public Library is working on having our old microfilm, pictures, documents and other Mentone history digitized.

This is a work in progress and it will take some time, but our goal is to make them available in our catalog so that you can peruse at your own convenience on your own computer, tablet or other device.



Upcoming Events

Easter egg hunt — Parents, bring your kids ages preschool to 11 years old to Bell Memorial Public Library at 10 a.m. Saturday. Bring your own baskets and search the library for hidden eggs.

Preschool story hour — Every Friday at 10 a.m. in our children’s room. The theme this week is Peter Rabbit.  Stories to be read are “The Tale of Peter Rabbit” and “The Tale of Benjamin Bunny” by Beatrix Potter. Children can make bunny garland for their craft.

Teen Book Club — Tuesday, 4 to 6 p.m. If interested in joining, please contact Elyza at 574-353-7234.

Calling all crafters! —  Creative Corner will take place April 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. This month we are making wood slice owls. Cost for this class is $5 and we ask that you sign up to ensure that we have enough materials for everyone participating. Sign-up sheets are located at our main circulation desk. Creative Corner is for adults ages 18 and up.

We have many popular TV series (new and old) on DVD that are available for check-out (must have a library card), including: “Under the Dome,” “Upstairs Downstairs,” “Vinyl” and “The Walking Dead.” Several series, such as “Sliders,” haven’t circulated in quite some time. Hurry in and check out your favorite before they disappear.
