It’s time again for the annual North Webster Cemetery Walk sponsored by North Webster Community Public Library’s Local History and Genealogy Center.

Held Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m., this living history event features enactors stationed throughout the cemetery portraying persons buried there. As their life stories are told, visitors learn about local history and life in North Webster in past years.

To go on the walk, visitors sign in at the library where they will be assigned a tour group. Tour groups leave from the library every 10 minutes, walking the short distance to the cemetery.

Golf cart shuttles will be provided for those who are unable to walk to and through the cemetery. Free refreshments, furnished by Friends of the Library, will be available as patrons wait for their tour to begin or after they return. Playing the cornet, Dennis Ulrey will perform background music in the cemetery. This event is free and open to the public.

Brain HQ

Another free event next week is the Brain HQ tutorial class of 11 a.m. Tuesday. Designed by neuroscientists to improve brain function, Brain HQ is a brain exercise program available on the library’s website at nweb.lib.in.us.

The tutorial class will help familiarize patrons with the program, showing them how to use it, set goals and track their progress.

Let’s Move

To exercise the body, Let’s Move dance exercise class continues every Thursday at 6 p.m. It’s an informal time of having fun following dance videos and getting a workout. It’s free and open to adults of all ages and fitness levels.

Grab And Go

With busy family schedules, it’s hard to find the time to bring the kids to the library to browse for books. Save time with Grab and Go bags available in the youth department. Ten bags are available, each pre-filled with 10 books.

Some bags are themed with books pertaining to a specific subject or interest while other bags are designated for accelerated reader reading levels. It’s a fast and convenient way to select and check out books. Just drop in, grab and go.
