Family Fun Night To Be An Extravaganza To Celebrate The Fall Season

Fall celebrations are the most fun, with costumes and decorations.
Family Fun Night will have a costume contest with a monster bash when DJ Scotty Rocker comes to spin some tunes. The family party is at 5 p.m. Oct. 30.
The Syracuse Library is open for trick-or-treaters on Halloween night with carnival games in the “Great Pumpkin Patch.”
A Franken-Wreath class is accepting sign-ups to make a door wreath at 4 p.m. Oct. 23. Young children must be accompanied by an adult as hot glue is involved.
Concluding the seasonal festivities is an open mic night on Nov. 9. Everyone is invited to take a turn on the stage. The theme is Frankenstein with emphasis on the outsider and tales about being the other. Presentations are approximately 3 to 5 minutes.

The Upcoming Week At A Glance
The decluttering support group is meeting for encouragement and idea sharing at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The group is settling in to a schedule of meeting on the first and third Tuesdays each month. Members are free to come and go from the group and new faces are invited. a
Jackie Franks, our Purdue Extension presenter, is offering three classes for beginners about using notebooks and smartphones or Androids.
The first class, at 1 p.m. Monday, will discuss features and updates and general usage of the device. A class about using the camera and another about connecting with social media are presented the following weeks. Please notify the library to confirm space availability.
Children 3-5 years are invited to science thrills on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. Toddlers 18 months to 3 years meet on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. for farm adventures. Babies up to age 18 month have a play and socialization time on Friday mornings at 10:30.
Chair yoga meets three times during the week for easy pyramid yoga on Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. An advanced class meets at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday and basic chair yoga at 10:30 a.m. Thursday includes a morning walk with Megan McClellan on the trails at 9 a.m.
The basic chair yoga is at the Syracuse Community Center for easy accessibility.
