This month, Voyager Book Club at North Webster Community Public Library challenges participants to read a book by an author they have never read before. Meeting the fourth Monday each month, Voyager Book Club focuses on a specific genre or subject each month with each member free to read a book of their choice within that category.
So if you’ve discovered a new author lately, come to Voyager and share what you’ve read.
A kids movie will be shown at 5 p.m. Nov. 29 when the youth department shows an animated 2018 sequel about a family of superheroes. Rated PG, the movie runs 105 minutes with free popcorn for everyone.
If you like to cook and try new recipes, come to Revolving Recipe Round-up that meets monthly on the fourth Tuesday. With a different food focus each month, the group will be preparing chicken dishes and bringing them to sample and share at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 27. If you have a favorite chicken recipe or want to try a new one, bring it next Tuesday for an evening of food and fellowship. The library provides the table service and coffee.
Also 5 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 27, local author Mark Howe will return for another book-signing session. Howe’s story is featured, among others, in the latest “Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Wonder of Christmas.” He will have personally signed copies of this holiday book available to purchase.
Friends of the North Webster Library will be selling gift jar mixes at the annual Wawasee Middle School Craft Bazaar from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 1.
A variety of mixes will be available including soup, pasta, cookie and muffin mixes. They make nice gifts or are handy to keep for a quick meal or dessert. Proceeds from the Friends of the Library sale will go to support the work of the library.
