Coppes Commons Historical Tours  Available Saturday

NAPPANEE – The Elkhart County Historical Museum will offer the “Places of Elkhart: Coppes Commons,” program on Saturday,  beginning at 11 a.m.

There is no cost to attend the program, but pre-registration is required. Only 15 participants can attend.

You can register online by going to the Elkhart County Parks website, elkhartcountyparks.org, and finding the tour information under the Events Calendar page. Registration closes Friday.

The Coppes Brothers factory was where workers manufactured Hoosier Cabinets and developed the Lazy Susan Cabinet construction. As the original business declined and eventually closed, the structure now serves as a home for new businesses and shops. This program will explore the building, revealing the history of this Nappanee icon.

Coppes Commons is at 401 E. market St., Nappanee.



Manchester Holiday Gala Dec. 1

NORTH MANCHESTER – Manchester Main Street will host its seventh annual Holiday Gala & Fundraiser Dec. 1 at Cordier Auditorium Manchester University.

Tickets are limited, so register earlier to guarantee your space. Registration deadline is Nov. 26.

The Holiday Gala is Manchester’s Main Street largest fundraiser.

Activities kick off at 5:30 p.m. with music from Tim Reed and his jazz band from Manchester University. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. with Tyler Sherwin performing magic tricks at individual tables. Indigo Army Band will provide entertainment. The event will conclude with a silent auction.
