STEM Skills Improved In A fun, Relaxed Atmosphere With Lego Crew
November 1, 2018 at 4:00 p.m.
Children and teens can explore their creativity and improve their STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) skills during Lego Crew from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Nov. 10.
Lego Crew is a fun, relaxed way to play with hundreds of Legos while improving tactile skills and exercising their creativity.
“Lego Crew is a great way for kids to use their imaginations,” said Milford Public Library staff member Shari Lambert, who runs the club.
Youth are welcome to build whatever they want from the hundreds of Legos available. All Legos are provided and there is plenty for everyone. Attendees are also welcome to play with a cool Lego train.
Teens and children older than 6 years old are welcome to play with the Legos. Children younger than 6 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Younger builders will have the option to play with Duplos (oversized Lego bricks).
The crew meets the second Saturday each month from September to May.
No registration or library card is needed. For more information, call 574-658-4312 or email [email protected].

Story Time
Children ages 3 to 6 will create a “Hello Fall” sign, eat a squirrel snack mix, and enjoy stories on Wednesday and Nov. 8.
The main goal of our Story Time is to encourage a love of learning, books, and the library in children ages 3 to 6. We want the library to be a safe and welcoming place for your child, and so Story Time is full of fun activities.
Sessions are available on Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. or Thursdays at 7 p.m. No library card needed. Register now by calling 574-658-4312 or emailing [email protected].
Teen Book Club
Teens in grades 6 through 12 are invited to Teen Book Club at 1 p.m. Nov. 10 to discuss the book, “Everland” by Wendy Spinale. Bring a friend and enjoy free snacks.
In this Peter Pan adaptation, London has been destroyed by a disease that only children have survived, among them, Gwen Darling and her siblings Joanna and Mikey.
However, when Captain Hook and his crew kidnap Gwen’s sister Joanna, the Darlings must team up with Pete, his Lost Boys, and sharpshooter Bella to get her back. Will the teens survive and find a cure for the disease? Find out and then join discussion on Nov. 10.
Help choose what we read each month by joining the Teen Book Club! For more information, call 658-4312 or email milford@milford. lib.in.us.
Closing Early For Inservice
Milford Public Library will close at 4 p.m. Nov. 13 for a staff in-service. Return materials in the drop boxes located at the south side of the building.
The library will reopen at 10 a.m. Nov. 14.
