The Great Wall closed for the last time Sunday after nearly three decades in business.
According to Times-Union reporting partner News Now Warsaw, Oak & Alley owner David Gustafson said they’re hoping to open the second location in a few months. At the latest, he expects it to open in October.
Gustafson said the restaurant will almost triple their seating capacity and provide a family dining option, something their downtown location does not offer. Gustafson says he’s excited to bring his restaurant to a higher-traffic area.
“When we’re pushing a thousand burgers a week out of the kitchen at Oak & Alley it was time to expand,” Gustafson says.
The new restaurant will also serve beer and wine.
The restaurant will continue its burger concept, but Chef Chris Prater will be adding new burgers to the menu.
The vibe at the Center Street restaurant will be similar to the downtown location, but Gustafson said they will be redoing the exterior of the building.
He said he hopes to add outdoor seating to the new restaurant next year.
