Get a good dose of laughter when North Webster Community Public Library hosts Comedy Improv Night at 7 p.m. March 2.
Main on Main Comedy Improv Troupe will perform its hilarious routines, taking cues from the audience. Its style of humor is uproariously funny, clean and appropriate for the whole family.
This free event will be held in the North Webster Community Center Banquet Hall, so come out for an evening of fun and laughter. It’s just what the doctor ordered.
More laughter can be had at the library’s adult-oriented movie matinee at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Showing is a 1958 romantic comedy starring iconic actors. Feel free to bring snacks to munch and enjoy a free movie.
Earlier that day at 10 a.m. Voyager Book Club meets to discuss books about or written by a U.S. president. Everyone reads a book of their choice and shares with the group. Next month, the book club will read and discuss books written by Irish authors.
On Tuesday, Revolving Recipe Round-Up will gather at 5:30 p.m. to share and sample dishes made with meat. Prepare a meat dish and bring it to share along with the recipe. Meeting the fourth Tuesday of each month, it’s a fun time of food, fellowship and discovering new recipes.
Discover your family roots and sign up for the Beginning Genealogy Course that will be 1 p.m. on Thursdays, March 1, 8, 15 and 22. In this four-class course, students will learn how to get started researching their family history. The course is free, but pre-registration is required. Sign up at the circulation desk or call 574-834-7122.
On St. Patrick’s Day everyone is Irish. Celebrate the day with “A Taste of Ireland” from 5 to 7 p.m. March 17 and experience Irish culture through food, music, art and history.
Tickets are currently on sale and cost $9 per person. Tickets must be purchased in advance from Adult Services Director Beth Smith or any Friends of the Library member. There will be no ticket sales at the door, so get your tickets while they last.
