The Syracuse Library is the meeting place of a new group of people who want to improve their creative writing skills. The February date that the group meets is at 11 a.m. Feb. 24. The group is encouraging anyone who likes to keep a journal, enjoys telling stories or wants feedback on a writing project to come to meet other people with a similar interest. The group will be closed when there are regular attendees and the size becomes too large for discussions. Now is the time to visit the group.

A Fun Week For Kids and Teens

The library is closing for Presidents’ Day on Monday, so there is no Monday story time. Tuesday is the time for Baby Bookworms where caregivers of babies share ideas and are shown age appropriate activities for easy and fun activities. At 5 p.m. Tuesday teens meet with other Potter fans and make a craft.

Toddler Time meets at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at for zoo stories, crafts and snacks. February 22 is a busy time for after school connections. Fun at Four is game time for kids and knitting at 5 p.m. is a good time to learn a useful winter craft.

Children that learn to knit or crochet acquire a lifelong skill. Japanese anime films are shown to teens at 5 p.m. on Thursday. The group is a raucous time to talk about favorite characters. Many stories have companion Manga books.

WorkOne

WorkOne  is bringing staff to answer questions from 1  to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. They are sharing the room with PeopleLink Staffing Resources.

Now that spring and summer are around the corner new employment opportunities become available. For those who might not have had success before, there are new job openings.  

Chair yoga always invites new people to give the half hour, free exercises a try. Pyramid easy chair yoga meets at 10:15 a.m. Tuesdays. Advanced chair yoga meets at 10:15 a.m. Thursdays after a half hour of walking on the Syracuse trails.
