The Warsaw Community Public Library has quite a few new movies that would easily fit into the blockbuster genre. Below are some titles that might be of interest.
“Deadpool 2”- The storyline is Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) finds it’s his duty to protect a troubled mutant teenager named Rusty (Julian Dennison) who’s being hunted by Cable (Josh Brolin), a man from the future who wants to stop Rusty before he does something horrible in the future.
The storyline is fast- paced and outrageously funny. It contains that choice sarcasm, fourth wall breaks, (if you don’t know what that means, Google it) crazy credits and over the top hyper-violence that Deadpool fans have come to love.
It is not a family friendly film.
“Infinity War”- The plot: Titan Thanos wants all of the universe’s infinity stones (six in all) in order to connect the stones’ cosmic powers. Putting their differences aside, the Marvel super heroes assemble to try to stop Thanos.
It’s a long movie with epic battles on land, in space, and on distant planets. This Marvel film ends up being about Thanos, the perfect villain.
From the very first scene, a dark tone is set letting the viewer know there will be loss. It’s not your everyday comic book film so be prepared.
“Ready Player One” is a remarkable movie that portrays a very advanced future in our world. Taking place in 2045, people can escape their harsh reality in the OASIS, a virtual world where you can be anyone, go anywhere and do anything-the only limits are your own imagination.
An outstanding ode to 80’s pop culture wrapped up in a thrilling old school adventure. Steven Speilberg directs this creative gem.
“A Quiet Place”– This storyline is unique as it is about a family who lives in silence after mysterious creatures that hunt by sound threaten their survival. It is one of the most imaginative, exquisitely constructed and acted horror films I’ve had the pleasure viewing.
John Krasinski is the star that shines in this film. Not only did he co-star he also directed and co-wrote the script as well. Even though there are plot holes, the story feels very real, simple yet tense.
