Hoffman Joins RE/MAX Results Warsaw Staff

RE/MAX Results announced that Sue Hoffman has joined its team at the Warsaw office as an associate broker.

Hoffman lives in Silver Lake with her husband Troy.  They have three children.

She grew up in the Tippecanoe Valley area and lives only a few miles from her childhood home.  She and Troy are members of Beaver Dam United Methodist Church, and she has been on several mission trips to Haiti. 

For the past 15 years, Hoffman has operated a dog-grooming business near Silver Lake.  During her years as a dog groomer, she really enjoyed getting to know her customers. She has always wanted to pursue a real estate career and is excited to join RE/MAX Results.

"I am looking forward to meeting new people and helping them make their goals a reality," said Hoffman. "It is an honor to be a part of the RE/MAX Results team."

August Events At Career Center Announced

The Warsaw Community Career Center will host the following events in August:

Open Practice Interviews – 11 a.m. to noon each Monday in August.

The Goodwill Career Center will host open mock interviews for anyone who would like to practice their interview skills. For people who are nervous about being interviewed or struggling to land a job because of the process, these mock sessions will prepare then for the types of questions, from basic to personal, that could be asked.

Instructors and clients will discuss how to answer the difficult questions and what to avoid. Clinets will learn how to appear confident and highlight skills in the conversation. Another topic will be how personal appearance makes a great first impression.

Choose a date and time to stop by and practice interview skills and receive a 25 percent discount to the Goodwill retail store.

Hiring Event – 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Staffmark is ramping up hiring for LSC Communications with several positions open. They will conduct on-the-spot interviews and follow up instructions for hire. People looking for employment quickly with quality pay, this event is the one to check out.

Staffmark works with those who have an adult record and will consider each individual case and offense. Prospective employees come prepared to be interviewed by dressing professionally and being ready to leave with a job in hand.

Veterans Employment Services – 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 15

Daniel Reed from Work One will be at the Career Center to provide information to veterans on services in the local area. He will offer one-on-one employment help, employer resources, information on benefits and contacts for further services.

Job Fair – Noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 15.

Participating businesses include Belle Tire (new store, new opportunities), Maple Leaf Farms, Meijer (immediate hire), Elwood Staffing, MDWISE (Medicaid insurance options), Ruby Tuesday (all positions open), Goodwill retail store and more. All the businesses will be screening and interviewing on the spot, so bring a résumé, dress professionally and be prepared to leave with potential job offers that day.

Beginning Excel Basics – 11 a.m. to noon Aug. 16.

This event will be hands-on and guided with several tutorials on Microsoft Excel’s basic functions and tools. The class will cater to both those seeking introductory Excel knowledge, as well as those who want to further their Excel abilities. We will cover Excel essential tools and work our way up to formatting and designing a standard spreadsheet with information.

Creating A Basic Excel Spreadsheet – 11 a.m. to noon Aug. 21 and 23.

The Career Center will host a two-part workshop on creating a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. It will cover designing and formatting spreadsheets, entering data and using various tools. This workshop will also help with tracking important information and creating lists to prepare those wanting to enter clerical, office and business-related positions.

Start here to become more tech-savvy when marketing yourself. All skill levels are welcome.

The Career Center is adjacent to the Goodwill retail store at 751 Anchorage Point Drive, Warsaw. All Career Center events are free and open to the public.
